Former Dragons’ Den investor Sara Davies has partnered with her sister Helen Goddard to launch Mind Your Business, a weekly podcast designed to support small business owners and entrepreneurs with practical advice and relatable conversation.
The podcast draws on the sisters’ combined 30 years of business experience. Davies, a TV presenter and founder of Crafter’s Companion, brings her perspective as an entrepreneur and investor, while Goddard runs The Decorating Centre Online in Durham, which she has grown significantly over the past decade.
Mind Your Business aims to champion the UK’s 16.6 million small business workers and owners, offering insights on topics ranging from cash flow management and staffing to imposter syndrome and work-life balance. Each episode delivers actionable tools and down-to-earth discussion, with a companion Facebook community where listeners can share experiences and contribute to weekly Q&A segments.
“We want to have conversations that truly speak to the 16.6 million people in small businesses about what’s important to them,” Davies said. “These people are the backbone of our economy – working during challenging times – and deserve to be championed, supported and hopefully helped on their way as they grow.”
Goddard added: “Running a business myself, I’m aware of how isolating it can be. There are millions of us out here in similar situations – working long hours, juggling family life, or trying to get an idea off the ground. I’m passionate about bridging the gap in community and offering real talk about the nuts and bolts – and the highs and lows.”
