StubHub has agreed to refund $10 million to consumers and improve its price disclosure methods following accusations from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) that it deceptively advertised ticket prices without fully revealing mandatory fees upfront. The FTC emphasized that its “Fees Rule” requires clear disclosure of the total price of live-event tickets to ensure consumers can make informed decisions.
The agency’s complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleged that during a three-day period in May 2025, StubHub advertised ticket prices without clearly disclosing all mandatory fees. The company will provide monetary relief to consumers affected during that timeframe and must now disclose total prices more transparently.
The settlement stems from the FTC’s broader enforcement efforts initiated after the Trump administration directed the commission to ensure price transparency in the ticketing market. The FTC’s action aligns with its mandate to combat unfair practices in the live entertainment market.
